I decided to jump back in time and read the Jan 1970 issue of Analog. I was born in 1975, so I have only read about this time in history books. I wanted to see the type of stories that people were writing around the time of the moon landings.

When I opened up this issue I laughed when I found a punch card which was presumably used as a book mark by a previous owner of this issue. The bookmark was between page 28 and 29 and was punched with the text "FC775500 040 24940050 0149824" and had the text "25" written in pencil on the end (presumably indicating that this is the 25th punch card in a series of cards). If anyone knows what this line of code might mean then please let me know. Is it machine language? It certainly looks like hex although it's odd that only the first two characters are above 9. It's not octal because there are 9's in there.

Know?list!
